History

Greenhill Dobbin was formed, in December 2001, following the merger of the Greenhill Group of companies and JN Dobbin (Holdings) Limited. The Greenhill Group was created as Greenhill Insurance Brokers over 25 years before the merger. Originally based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, we subsequently moved to our present suite of offices in the old Council Chambers at Burkes Court. The Dobbin Group, started trading in Maidenhead, Berkshire in 1947, handling all aspects of Insurance, and following the merger, relocated to the Beaconsfield premises.

John Miles ACII - Group Managing Director

John was one of the founders of the Greenhill Insurance Group in 1982. He specialises in Individual Pensions including SIPPs, Phased Retirement/Income Drawdown, Pension Transfers and Onshore & Offshore Investments. John was formerly a Director of Lyon Lohr (Life & Pensions) Ltd, the Life & Pensions arm of the Lloyds Broking Lyon Lohr Group.

Martin Cogger – Group Director

Previously a colleague of John Miles at Lyon Lohr (Life & Pensions) Ltd, Martin joined the Greenhill Insurance Group in 1984. Prior to his Lyon Lohr days, Martin was employed in the Life Assurance industry in Cape Town, South Africa with the Old Mutual. Martin is the Data Protection Manager and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Group.

David Cook ACII – Group Pensions Director    

David joined the Company in 1998 having spent over 25 years with Standard Life as an adviser to their Corporate Pension clients. He has acquired a considerable amount of experience providing both individual employee and corporate advice for both large and smaller clients. He specialises in Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes and now manages the team looking after our portfolio of group pension clients.

Roy Coggins – Commercial Insurance Director

Roy became a member of the Greenhill Insurance Group in 1987 as the Director responsible for the development, administration and servicing of general insurance business. Roy’s focus is managing the insurance requirements of corporate clients. His previous experience in the insurance industry was gained through nine years of underwriting and commercial account handling with the Sun Alliance, followed by ten years of provincial broking.  

Peter O’Sullivan ACII – Commercial Insurance Director

Peter started his career with Zurich Insurance Company, gaining experience in all aspects of general insurance and claims handling. He transferred to the broking side of the industry when he joined the Dobbin Group in 1985. Peter oversees the day-to-day activities of the Broking Team and manages relationships with insurers.

Stephen Cooper – Commercial Insurance Director

Stephen has worked in insurance for over 20 years. His previous experience as an Underwriter with Eagle Star was a useful background for developing his skills as a successful Insurance Broker. Stephen has extensive experience of arranging all types of commercial insurance including professional indemnity and marine transit risks.

Jenny Price CERT FPS  -   Compliance Manager

Jenny heads the Compliance Department for the Greenhill Dobbin group of companies and has a career spanning more than 20 years in the financial services industry.  She has seen the development and impact of regulation initially working for a product provider and then moving over to Compliance in an IFA environment as our Compliance Officer in May 1998. Jenny provides the company with specialist knowledge in the area of compliance and T & C appertaining to our regulated business activities.
Jenny holds the FPC qualification and is an Affiliate Member of the Compliance Institute.
